Tirta Empul

Founded in 926AD, the Tirta Empul temple is built around a natural spring, which is considered holy by Balinese. Hindus go to the temple for ritual purification to cleanse and ward off evil. The spring comes from beneath the ground and is constantly drained, so it is very clean and refreshing, along with being spiritually rewarding.

There is a fee of R50,000 to enter the temple and this includes a sarong rental which is mandatory. Make sure you bring a change of clothes and, ideally, another sarong. Menstruating women are not meant to enter the temple.

For anyone staying in Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta or further south, you will need to do a full day trip as the temple is at least 2 hours' drive.

Pickup from hotel / villa

We pick you up nice and early from your accomodation in Sanur, Canggu, Nusa Dua or elsewhere. We are heading north of Ubud so we should get away nice and early. If you don't have time for breakfast, we can stop at the morning markets for a snack. Don't forgot to bring your swimsuit and towel!
Handara Split Gate

You might like to get a pic in front of this iconic split gate. We could also stop for a round of golf, but the gate is beautiful and if you're lucky you will have a nice misty morning with not too many tourists to fight off. Note that there is a Rp30,000 fee for a picture here which h elps maintain the gate and manage the tourist queues so everyone gets a chance to take a picture. We will stop around here for lunch and, if in season, you might be able to buy some local strawberries to snack on or picked up strawberries by yourself.
Pura Ulun Danu Beratan

The iconic temple is in a unique complex on the edge of Beratan lake, and was built in 1633. There is an entrance fee of Rp75,000 to enter the ground where you can wander through lovely gardens.
Leke Leke Waterfall

Quiecious and shady, two words that can describe the situation there. You can enjoy the coolness of the air released from the trees with the gurpe at the sound of water hitting the rock. Leke-Leke will be the right tourist destination for those of you who like nature and silence.
